At present, amidst the final year studying for my Textiles Degree, my work involves creating a series of Tactile Fringes inspired by the abstract formations in bird feathers, Victorian mourning and Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty works. Focusing on innovative, Hi-Art and cutting edge aesthetic perception, my designs use combinations of textile techniques, including laser cutting, material manipulation and photography, often integrating literary influences into my subject theme. My current project subtly explores the concept of Freud's psychology on the uncanny; the familiar becoming strange and the ambiguous nature of what lies beyond a surface, revealing the unexpected.
